The Deep and the Dark
GAGSAHAR, Drow Ruin
Two centuries ago, the miners of Ina-Sihirtu struck into this cavern, itself nearly the size of the hollow around their home city, and found, to their immediate horror, a city of the drow, and knew as soon as the bruise-colored, shifting lights of tell-tale drow inhabitation shone onto their sooty faces that they would die. Nothing, however, was forthcoming, and one brave individual, whose name is lost, peered further in.
He saw nothing; a city covered in a thick carpet of pale sand and splinters, shifting under a hot subterranean wind, all silent and casting shifting shadows in the unsteady light. They opened the passage out, and a party went in to explore, further in than their fellows could see. Their panicked shouts and death-cries were all that it took for the dwarves to stop up the passage, and never since has anyone returned save to ensure that the way remains closed.
